The focus last Tuesday, March 8th was to nail down and select the bridesmaid dresses that we loved. These dresses will be showcased at our upcoming bridal show on Sunday, April 3rd. With 6 opinions, every color to choose from, and racks of dresses…it was hard to know where to start!!  Our fashion brainstorming meeting consisted of Sarah and Stevee with Event Style, Rita with Stella and Dot, Teresa with Alayna’s Bridal and Formals, and of course Vanessa and I!! Somehow Stevee and I got chosen to be the “models” …one dress, two dresses and next thing you knew my dressing room was filled with dresses!!  Walking out of the dressing room, made the choices easy…I either got a “WOW” or a “It’s OK”!! But I will say, our list of loves…were stacking up!! The best part of dressing up, is accessorizing!! Rita brought her jewels from Stella and Dot, and dress up was officially in progress!! The jewelry just made the dress!! Lot’s of chatter, laughter, and ideas were flooding the room!! But, our problem was “who” would model our choices…yikes!!!  Our two hour meeting, was finally finished and we had our favorite dresses picked out!! The girls at Event Style aren’t only hair and makeup artists…they are also very professional, and bring lots of creative ideas to the table!! We can’t wait to see the beautiful and fun bridesmaid dresses get coupled with Stella & Dot jewelry, hair and makeup design by Event Style, and Seychelles shoes. Seriously, the anticipation of seeing everything come together is killing us!!

The minute we left the building, we were on our phone texting away…. looking for our models!! It wasn’t hard to figure out who we wanted!! Of course we called our besties, cousin, and neighbor!! Not only do we trust them, but they are gorgeous!! Within a few hours, we had our girls and our dresses all picked out!!

Next we’ll be having the dress fittings with our “bridesmaid” models on Tuesday, March 15th!! You’ll have to stay tuned…our next post will be a sneak peak at the bridesmaid dresses and models for our April 3rd bridal show…”It’s A Bride Thing” Bridal Soiree at Camarillo Ranch! So much to look forward too…yippie!

Well, with that said, I’ve decided to start dedicating a portion of our blog to a “Marry Me” section. To help get the section launched, I’d like to ask our network of brides-to-be the to share their “proposal” story with our blog readers. 

Here’s what to do…First, don’t be shy or stress over it for one second, honestly! You can write it, your fiancé can write it, you both can write it together. Make it short and sweet or long and loving. If you need assistance putting your story into words…no worries, just reach out to me, I’d love to help! I can also do a Q & A with you, if that’s easier. Once done, you can submit your story to me at SoulMates_Bridal@yahoo.com. If you have pictures – feel free to also submit them along with your “proposal” story. No pressure though…seriously, I want this to be FUN!

This production, as we call it…isn’t simple, nor is it like a shotgun wedding that can be put together quickly. It takes time, love, dedication and passion. This isn’t just a business for us…it’s our little baby, nurtured to perfection until April 3, 2011 when “It’s A Bride Thing” Bridal Soiree comes alive! Why are we so passionate? It’s simple, we love what we do! We want to inspire you, offer informative information and get our guests to interact with each other. As we see it…you’re planning the biggest day of your life with the same emotions we feel when we plan and produce our bridal shows.

We decided to give you a sneak peak, into what goes on behind the scenes in the last month of event production. This is a crucial time for us as we connect all the pieces to the puzzle!! We’ll tell you a little about what we’re up to…and what you can expect at our bridal show at Camarillo Ranch on April 3, 2011!!

March 3rd was the one month mark on the calendar…Yikes!! “Meetings” seem to be the story of our life these days. First meeting of the month was to go over postcards for marketing…the key to bringing everyone on board!! We met at our office or should I say Starbucks, to meet with Cory our lovely graphic artist with Dandyline Designs!! Two hours later, after much colaboration we had an outline of our event postcard and new business cards!! All the while, the phone has been ringing and emails have been popping in the inbox throughout the meeting!! Now, we have to wait for Cory to go back to her office…where she’ll work her magic in designing and then submit our order. Back in our car and off we go to meet Ventura Rental.

Have you been to Ventura Rentals gorgeous showroom? A MUST SEE, if not! OMG Vanessa and I look for any excuse to see their new designs…and ok…of course we also love meeting with the talented Heidi and Georgia. It’s an hour full of brainstorming new ideas and concepts…the goal, to bring inspiration to everyone that spends April 3rd with us!! We discuss linen colors, lounge furniture ideas…and display tables!! We have asked them to work their magic to transform the newly renovated barn at Camarillo Ranch into our SWEET SPOT. This is an area of the show that we plan to have a full array of sweet…tasty treats and yummy nibbles for guests to sample!! What to expect? Cake, cupcakes, coffee bar, and a candy bar!! So, we’ve made all our notes…off we go, again!!  Home to our computers and phones….to type away emails and talk to amazing vendors!!!  Next time…..hear about our fun and fabulous style meeting with Alayna’s Bridal and Formals, Event Style, and Rita Riemer with Stella and Dot!!
